Optional: Tell us a little about your pets (names, ages, breeds):

I am the pet parent to two shih-tzus.Pilea is almost 13 years old and doesn't see very well any more(she has cataracts).Raider is almost 10(his birthday is 4-22).They are both brown and white with black ears.

Optional: What are your pets' favorite things to do?

Pilea is pretty laid back. She likes to nap and lay beside you in a comfy chair. She LOVES treats and human junk food(we know it's not really good for her so she doesn't get it too often) Pilea likes to ride in the car and go for walks on the leash.
Raider likes to play tug and fetch.He loves to go fishing and tries to catch fish with his paws.Raider had an awful accident in Nov. 2008, he was hit by a car and had to have pevlic reconstructive surgery.He can't hold his tail up over his back now, he holds it out from his body and the end curls up.He was very sick for a long time and we didn't know if he was going to be able to go potty but he is better now.He goes potty outside on his own and can run again.He still does not jump, that use to be one of his favorite tricks, but he is a happy little guy and so strong! Raider hates to go in the car..he likes it when we get there, but the journey is not his most favorite. Raider loves to go camping and chase the squirrels. We are so glad that he has recovered so well.

Optional: What are their "pet peeves"?

Pilea hates to be dirty.She is a "Pretty girl" and loves to be groomed. Raider is all boy and doesn't like a bath or to be brushed. They both don't like to be put in the laundry room while Mom and Dad are at work..but are sooo happy when they get let out!

Optional: What are their best tricks?

The Tzus(as I call them) are both happy to do tricks.Pilea loves to dance pretty ,roll over, she shakes hands,sits,lays down, and goes around and round. Pilea is so smart but likes a treat when she does her tricks.Raider also shakes hands, sits and lays down.Raider likes to dance and say please best of all. Raider loved to jump high and higher before he got hurt, but now he doesn't jump. It is too hard and Dr. Bill says he shouldn't jump so....

Optional: How did your pets become part of your family?

We bought Pilea from a breeder when she was just 7 weeks old. She has been our "baby girl" ever since.She loves our son Aaron best of all( his bed was the bottom bunk and the only bed she could climb onto when she was little).Pilea is so happy when Aaron comes to visit now that he has grown up and moved away to go to college.
Our Daughter bought Raider froma lady who hwd 3 puppies.He was also just a baby(about 7 weeks). Whenshe divorced and moved back home Raider came to live with us.When she moved out she didn't take Raider because Pilea and Raids had grown to attached to each other and we were afraid they would miss each other too much.(Not to mention Raider and I had grown very close,he had in essence become "my" lil Tzu. So Raider stayed with us and is happy here. Our Daughter still comes over a lot 3-5 times a week so they see each other all the time. Raider loves Matt who has also grown up and moved away, Matt visits as often as he can and they are both so happy to see each other and play a game of tug.
