Optional: Tell us a little about yourself

My husband and i have 1 grown child and currently not living in the household any longer. Though we find ourselves sadden because we miss him so, but our pets (2 cats) are great and pretty much fills the void. We are a fun and loving couple who enjoy traveling, camping, road trips and doing new things together for the past 10 years or so. Our 2 babies are wonderful cats, Ash is the spoiled, 24 hr attention seeking grey cat and Kyro is the blk/wht clumsy somewhat bi-polaric cat (don't ask, lol). My husband got them for me for Valentines day 9 years ago because he knew how much i adored cats (i grew up with 7 cats all at once during my childhood). I fell in love with them and him, even deeper.

Optional: Tell us a little about your pets (names, ages, breeds):

Well, Ash is a Corat cat and Kyro is a (i'm not sure) tuxedo cat. They were 1 years old when i 1st got them from the North shore animal League pet adopting center.

Optional: What are your pets' favorite things to do?

Kyro was never a "lap" cat till my son moved out. One day shortly after, i was deeply concentrated watching t.v. with a pillow on my lap and suddenly Kyro jumped up and just looked at me and gave a faint "meow" and just curled up on the pillow. I was petrified, he used to scratch me and my husband by accident(out of fear and trying to run away) and here he was with his guards down. I didn't know what to do and wouldn't dare budge so i picked up my cell and called hubby at work. He couldn't believe it himself! Long story short- i had to use the bathroom and do other things but i didn't move from that sofa till he was ready to get off. Needless to say, i was able to use the bathroom 6 hrs later, lol. I am proud to say that he is now a lap cat, yayyy for me and my patience! Ash in the other hand thinks he's a dog. If we leave any pens around, he gets them and walk around the house like a walking dog with his bone in his mouth-truth!!! Oh and did i mention he demands attention? If you don't he will be in the middle of what you're doing and lay right on it and meow till you pet him. And if you choo him away, he comes back with a head-bump, they can hurt if you're caught off guard lol. Oh and i cannot leave my hair-ties sitting anywhere-- he takes them and just plays with it non-stop for about an hour. He is fascinated by it and it seems to be the highlight of the day for him. We don't allow the cats in our bedroom so we lock the door at night. They are so cute and wonderful that when we open the door in the morning, they are laying right by the door or sitting meowing for breakfast of course. We have them in a strict diet because when hubby adopted them, they were pretty much being over looked because Ash has asthma and Kyro was morbidly obese at the time. Knowing what a sweetheart of a man hubby is, he doesn't care about that. He went with what he thought would put a smile on my face and i've been smiling ever since. So Ash has a respiratory issue (slight murmur) and Kyro was obese, so we put them on a diet (small portioned food twice a day) and tended to their physical activities and medical issues. Ash is better and Kyro lost the weight and is at his ideal weight, yayyy!
