Butterscotch is adorable! Please always just milk her and never take her baby away from her. Cows and calves have a very long term relationship and cows get distraught when their babies are taken away from them. They can spend several years looking…

Optional: Tell us a little about yourself
I'm here to promote my friend Jeanne's dogs. I am their auntie Jubie. I take care of them when their mom is out of town and even sometimes when she is in town! I'll also talk about other people's dogs I know. I've had dogs all my life and I am very attuned to them. We haven't had dogs for awhile now, but will be moving around too much for the next 2 years. Then, we plan to have a menagerie of animals! Cows, goats, sheep, dogs, chickens and cats.
Optional: Tell us a little about your pets (names, ages, breeds):
I'll talk about Jeanne's dogs here; Mona and Lisa are sisters and they are of the Dachshund breed. Mona and Lisa have a little back yard and are pretty much city dogs, but when I take them for walks we go down to the river and hike around in the brush! Mona and Lisa are over 2 years old now and are as loving as can be!
Optional: What are your pets' favorite things to do?
Mona and Lisa love to hear anyone say "Who wants a treat?" and then they love to eat the treat! They love to sleep on the couch and I invite them to do that a lot! They love human food and I can't bear to forget my little friends when there are meals or snacks around. Lisa is a true lap dog and Mona is a bit more reserved. Lisa loves pampering and attention. Mona loves it too but Lisa wiggles her way in to be the center of attention most of the time!
Optional: What are their "pet peeves"?
Mona and Lisa hate to go out when it is cold or raining. Mona is the worst. She would rather hold it for days before stepping out onto a wet lawn to do her thing.
Optional: What are their best tricks?
A half sit when they get their treats. Well, Mona has learned to sit and wait for the treat while Lisa sits half way and then stands when you give her the treat!
Optional: How did your pets become part of your family?
When my very good friend brought Mona and Lisa (as puppies) to her home from a friend who breeds Dachshunds I got to know Mona and Lisa from that day forward!
I dog sit for Jeanne when I can... I'll miss the girls and Jeanne now that I am moving far away, but I'll plan to see them at least a couple of times a year.
Researchers say that a dog's laugh is a rhythmic pant.
Good dogs
RESEARCHER Marc Bekoff says there's a long list of observable emotional and ethical behavior of dogs. It will seem familiar to most people who have dogs:
• Dogs have a sense of fair play. They dislike cheaters. They experience joy in play. They delight in friends. Big dogs handicap themselves in games with little dogs.
• Dogs get jealous when a rival gets more or better treats or treatment. They are resentful, unnerved or saddened by unfair behavior. They are made anxious by suspense. They get afraid.
• They are embarrassed when they mess up or do something clumsy. They feel remorse or regret when they do something wrong. They seek justice. They remember the bad things done to them, but sometimes choose to forgive.
• Dogs have affection and compassion for their animal and human friends and family. They defend loved ones. They grieve their losses. They have hope.
