One of my cats does this as well. Sometimes he flexes his toes, which I take to be "air kneading" - so I figure he's happy. Sometimes he does it if he doesn't think I'm paying him enough attention. For example, he likes to sit on the bathroom counte…
My guess would be that it is an involuntary action, such as a twitch of the mouth. As to why your cat does that, my only guess would be that maybe it twitches when it becomes happy? I don't really know...
Hi :) sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I havn't felt too good the last couple of weeks or so (that time of the month). With naming my babies I've always been told to look and see what sort of qualities they have, such as how they're p…
Hi Lena Marie, thanks for replying to my message. I don't yet have a digital camera so no pics. to upload of my fur babies. I'm working on it though! Now with Lil Fuzzy, she'll get in the tub and play with one of those little balls with the bell in…
I love your pics. of your babies! They're all so cute and so expressive. They look like they could be twins. Are they from the same litter? The picture up above this writing space with he or she in the tub pawing at the water and drinking it, looks…
No my cat is an american shorthair. I've noticed she'll do it while she's looking right at me or whatever I may be holding. Such as food for instance. I can't help but wonder if she learned it from my dog since he also does it. The thought has also…
My cat Savannah does that all the time! Like you, I'm not sure why. I figure that postition just feels good. She's done it since she was a kitten and now she's 12. I thought it would wear off eventually, but it's just her thing. Don't you wish you w…
That is such a good question! You know how kittens have this really short term memory? For example... "I forgot I would get smacked if I play with that other cat's tail or if I jump on their head." I'm pretty sure they forget their siblings sooner t…
Maybe it depends on what part of the country or state you live in and how much of a threat they are because I've never heard of vaccines of that kind either. It sounds like the shots would save a lot of extra vet bills!

Optional: Tell us a little about yourself
I adore animals and their antics. They make a persons life better. At the moment, I don't have any photos of myself or my furry babies because I've just recently gotten back on the web and as of yet, don't own a digital camera. But when I do, I'm most certainly going to put our pics. up so we'll all know who's who!
Optional: Tell us a little about your pets (names, ages, breeds):
My beagle mix is Patches who's nine now, there's one of my american short hairs named Squeeky who I THINK is somewhere around nine, he adopted us in 2000 from here in the neighborhood, then there's my other american short hair named Lil Fuzzy Nibbles.
Optional: What are your pets' favorite things to do?
Patches loves to go on walks and play with his favorite squeaky toys, and sleep. Fuzzy likes to eat, sleep, and run around out doors. And walk with Patches and me when we go on our walks. While she fusses when she feels we're going too far! And Squeeky also goes on our walks, but with less fussing. When he's not doing that, he enjoys sleeping and eating. And being babied. Along with curling up on or next to my lap on the couch and sleeping their.
Optional: What are their "pet peeves"?
Patches does NOT like getting his paws stepped on or having any body even try getting close to them. He doesn't much like getting his teeth brushed, but he tolerates it. Squeeky doesn't like to be rubbed and scratched, except for when HE wants it done. Or if his food isn't put in his bowl fast enough he starts fussing, making all kind of racket. Fuzzy doesn't like trying to share our home with any other cats that may come along. And she doesn't like sudden moves or noises that are too loud. Nor does Fuzzy like lightning or the vacuum cleaner. Now that I think about it, none of the babies do.
Optional: What are their best tricks?
Squeeky will reach up and stand on his hind legs to get a treat out of my hand. And sometimes he'll grab onto my hand and won't let it go until he gets the food out of it. The other two don't really have anything that they do for tricks.
Optional: How did your pets become part of your family?
I adopted Patches as a pup from a family who was getting rid of their dog's litter. Squeeky had belonged to a neighbor a few doors down until they moved and didn't take him with them. Then he started coming over here to eat and he stayed. He showed up not too long after I brought Patches home. And Fuzzy, I got from another family who was getting rid of a litter that one of their cats had.

I agree- this is a great site. I just love Dogpile and use it exclusively for searches because of their commitment to animals.
Thanks for asking about Oscar. And guess what!!! I took him in this morning to have his blood tested and his sugar levels were normal! Yahoo! I am so excited for him. He is the sweetest cat and I'm so happy that he is able to get off the insulin.
So I am curious about what breed of cat it is that raises it's paw. Let me know!
