Hi, I'm Marie. Read my profile, it says it all. Look forward to talking with everyone from time to time.

I agree. Have the vet check her out first, just to be safe. Otherwise, it could very well be a sign of her disagreement with some change in the household. I have heard that cats will do things like that if they're upset about something.

Hi Lisa, I think Marnie's comment is right on. My daughter-in-law's cat did the same thing and the vet determined that it was a urinary tract infection. Of course, I have another friend whose cat did this as soon as her boyfriend moved in (only on his side of the bed). When they broke up and moved out, the cat quit! My friend maintains that it was cat wisdom, as the cat didn't do it with her first boyfriend. The cat never liked the "gifted" second boyfriend.

I'd try the vet first.

Hi Lisa. First, I'd recommend having Smoky checked out by a vet - she may have a urinary tract infection that is creating bladder control issues.

If it turns out to be a behavioral issue, you might try either a) feeding her on your bed a few times or b) playing with her on your bed. Sounds wierd I know, and option b) has a potential side effect of making your cat think the bed is a play-area in the middle of the night, but cats are instinctually rather clean animals. They don't generally enjoy urinating in their "food space" or their "play space".

Also, you might try a different kind of cat litter or litter box. Different cats will like different things.

Lisa i am not a cat expert really but there's a chance she is angry about something. They do weird stuff like that when they are not happy. I'd buy a cat book at your local book store if you can. I got one a few months ago.

I have a 2 year old cat named smoky. could anyone help me? She likes to pee on my bed. I thought it was because she was in heat. But after she was spayed it keeps happening? Help me please I'm tire of washing my covers so much?

This group needs a picture. I think that the only one allowed to change that is the creator of it. Anyone who is in contact with her, please tell her to add a picture!

I have a strange combo of ages when it comes to the cats of my household. I have an eight year old who is worse than an attack dog by far, a two year old male (fixed) with a shattered hip joint and a bum leg, and a his half-sister who is 9wks old and thinks I’m her mother.

Oh, Merry would definitely climb an enclosure. I often find her in the upper rafter-things in the basement and have NO idea how she gets up there, she'd put a monkey to shame. Maybe I'll just "walk" her around the yard in the summers, she'd probably be happy sitting with me while I'm out in the yard.
