Hello pet lovers! I have a scenario that hopefully someone here would actually know what to do. I am helping a friend give her puppy away to a new home...is there anything my friend needs to do as far as legally? I already told her to give them the vaccination papers (in which) is up to date and dog license on the collar. What i really want to know is, does my friend have to call the licensing place (or anything else) to change the name to the NEW owners? My friend is afraid that if the dog does something ( for example, bite someone)... can she get into trouble since all the paperwork is still in her name??? I think this is a legitimate concern to have. I hope someone is knowledgeable enough to give me feedback on this matter, thank you very much everyone.

Hello All,

We have two dogs, a 13 year old Jack Russell named Elliot aka Pete and a 2 year old Chihuahua named Chloe. Elliot has conjestive heart disease and is now completely blind.... He stopped eating on us last October and not knowing what to do we decided to adopt a rescue dog for company. This is where Chloe comes in... Chloe came to us in November of 2008 from a puppy mill where she had a litter when she was just under a year. She was kept outside in a chicken coop. So when we got her she instantly took to Elliot and us. She is really amazing she makes sure that Elliot eats by hurding him over to the food dish or taking over dog cookies and placing them infront of him. When they go outside and he has trouble finding the door to come in she runs over and hurds him to the door with gentle nudges. Chloe is a real gift! She is our 12 lb. wonder!
